View from the manager, Steven Gerrard

"It was another important win against Derby County last weekend. We got our goal and a reward from a set-piece but I thought in general play we were very difficult to play against. I would have liked a bit more quality but that’s me probably demanding a bit too much because we are carrying a lot of young players who are still finding their feet at U18 level. I’m really pleased and proud with the result and the effort that they gave.

“We will be looking for another clean sheet against Middlesbrough and we know we have the quality to hurt them. They have got a few threats but they give you a chance and that should excite our players. The main part of the team talk and the chats with these players is 'can you handle the pressure knowing that if you win every match you will win the league?'."
