Liverpool Football Club is once again leading the way in the Premier League's VisitFootball Quality Assured Stadium Assessment Scheme, following its half-season ranking.

The recent assessment sees the club maintain its No.1 position after the first home visit made by VisitFootball this year. The fantastic achievement follows a strong start to the season for the Reds, including the opening of the newly-expanded Main Stand, which saw the recruitment of more than 1,000 new matchday roles and 8,500 additional fans welcomed to Anfield for the 2016-17 campaign.

The standard has been developed in partnership with Live Tourism and is commissioned by the Premier League. The scheme helps clubs set benchmark standards for match experience from the perspective of home and visiting supporters, fans with specialist access requirements, and those in hospitality areas.

Last season, the Reds claimed first place for the overall matchday experience it delivers to fans and visitors to Anfield stadium. This is the first time LFC has reached the top spot for its overall fan experience, and is the fourth year running it has come top for the club’s accessibility assessment, which looks at the experience and service provided to disabled supporters.

Andrew Parkinson, the club’s operations director, said: “As a football club we pride ourselves in delivering a first-class fan experience for all our fans. We take on board fans’ feedback and are continually striving to ensure our fans enjoy a memorable experience at Anfield.”
