Brand new LFCTV series 'Premier League Heroes' begins with a celebration of the career of a modern Liverpool great at 7pm GMT this evening.

“Steven Gerrard was a force of nature, just a winner, a gladiator.”

Steven Gerrard is the subject of the show’s first episode, as a star cast of former Reds teammates, managers, coaches, journalists and pundits have their say on the icon’s legacy.

The programme tracks the story of the talented boy from Huyton who became the club’s talisman and helped to defy all the odds by lifting the European Cup in 2005.

“I would describe him as a genius.”

Contributors include Steve Heighway, Hughie McAuley and Dave Shannon – three LFC coaches who influenced the young Gerrard hugely as his ability grew and blossomed.

The men who managed the midfielder provide their perspective on his leadership qualities on and off the pitch, while his teammates offer tributes to an inspirational skipper.

“He would have to be up there with the very best players Liverpool have ever had, undoubtedly.”

Don’t miss it – tune in to official club channel LFCTV at 7pm tonight to watch ‘Premier League Heroes’, which will also be available on demand on LFCTV GO.

And stay tuned for subsequent episodes, which will chronicle the achievements of Jamie Carragher, Robbie Fowler, Sami Hyypia, Steve McManaman, Michael Owen, Luis Suarez and Fernando Torres.
