Liverpool FC is urging supporters not to buy tickets from anyone other than official sellers of Reds match tickets.

The club is taking action on ticketing touting and in its latest investigation has recently suspended a number of people from purchasing tickets and attending games at Anfield. As well as dedicated club staff who work specifically on targeting touts, the club has also teamed up with an investigation agency who specialises in tracking touts.

In the club’s latest clamp down around the Bournemouth v Liverpool game in December, a live investigation - which included purchasing tickets from unauthorised sellers - led to finding a number of individuals advertising and selling tickets well above face value.

Liverpool is introducing a number of measures designed to hinder and stop the sale of touted tickets. The purchase of tickets from online sales sites is just one of these measures and will form an integral part of the process going forward.

In addition to this, the club would encourage anyone who has been a victim of touting to contact them with full details. Every case will be thoroughly investigated.

LFC chief executive officer, Peter Moore, said: “Behind the scenes we are working extremely hard to try and eradicate ticketing touting to protect our supporters from getting caught out with fake or unofficial tickets.

“One way to help immediately is to stop purchasing tickets from unofficial sources. We will continue this work and are committed to looking at new ways how we can help to stop this illegal trading.”

Thank you for your continued support.
