Liverpool FC's Red Neighbours programme thanks fans who made a donation to the foodbank before the Merseyside derby at Anfield on Saturday.

Volunteers at the drop-off point collected nearly 700kg of food from supporters, which equates to 76 food parcels – the largest amount of food donated at Anfield to date.

All items collected have been donated to the North Liverpool Foodbank and will be distributed to local people in need of emergency assistance.

As part of its dedication to tackle food poverty, the Red Neighbours programme has supported the Fans Supporting Foodbanks initiative’s collections at 16 games this season.

At their drop-off base on Anfield Road, the foodbank has received a total of 2,285kg of food from fans, which is enough to feed more than 700 people.
