Almost 500 local youngsters have spent their summer holidays to date enjoying sports camps run by the LFC Foundation.

The sessions, which take place at various locations across Merseyside, provide a fun and safe environment for children to stay active and entertained during the break.

Both boys and girls aged eight years and over can attend the activity camps, which aim to develop footballing skills and encourage participants to be psychically active and make new friends.

Andrea Cooper, head of LFC Foundation, said: “Our summer camps are a fantastic way for children to keep fit and healthy during the school holidays, and they’re also a great place to socialise or meet new people.

“It’s really important that young people maintain a healthy lifestyle - both physically and mentally - and our camps allow them to do so in a friendly and safe setting.”

The LFC Foundation summer camps will run until the end of the school holidays, with sessions at Scargeen Recreational Ground, Gateacre High School, Walton Hall Park, Toxteth Fire Fit Hub, Wirral Hive Youth Zone, Wavertree Sports Park, Croxteth Sports Centre and Anfield Sports and Community Centre.
