Representatives from Liverpool FC's Red Neighbours initiative took part in a community planting event at Stanley Park earlier this week.

Pupils from Pinehurst Primary School planted six cherry blossom trees in the Grade II listed park as part of a project supported by LFC, Stanley Park CIC, Everton FC, Living Landscapes and Carillion.

Red Neighbours manager Forbes Duff said: "It’s great to come together to support Stanley Park CIC alongside our neighbours Everton.

"Supporting activities like this forms part of the club’s continued commitment to the local community.

"We would like to thank all involved and particularly the pupils from Pinehurst Primary School who came to help."
