Roberto Firmino has urged Liverpool to ‘keep the focus’ and continue their fine recent form when West Ham United visit Anfield on Saturday.

The Reds return to domestic action this weekend 10 days on from their breathtakingly brilliant 5-0 demolition of FC Porto in their Champions League last-16 first leg.

That victory at Estadio do Dragao was preceded by an impressive 2-0 win at Southampton, while their two matches prior to that saw Jürgen Klopp’s side play out a thrilling 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur and register a 3-0 victory over Huddersfield Town.

And Firmino, scorer of five goals in his last seven appearances, is eager to help Liverpool maintain their impressive level of performance in the coming weeks.

“We’ve started the month of February in good form,” the Brazil international told Liverpoolfc.com.

“We won two matches away from home - one in the league, one in the Champions League - and I hope that we can keep the focus to achieve our objectives and that we are able to give our best on the pitch to achieve the aim of getting wins.”

West Ham 1-4 LFC in 90 seconds

This season’s reverse fixture with West Ham ended in a comprehensive 4-1 success for the Reds in the capital back in November, but Firmino has warned that Klopp’s team will need to perform at their peak to take all three points from the Londoners once again.

“West Ham has a very good team,” the No.9 said.

“We have played them before this season and we won, but we faced a hard match. The game was very difficult for us, and when playing [against them] at home we don’t expect it to be any easier so we are facing a tough match.

“I hope that our team is focused on the objective we have in mind - to get the win - but for that, we need to give our best.”
