Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson each registered an assist during England’s 7-0 win over North Macedonia.

Liverpool captain Henderson played just under an hour of Monday night’s Euro 2024 qualifier at Old Trafford and he unselfishly teed up Marcus Rashford to put the Three Lions 3-0 up on the stroke of half-time.

Alexander-Arnold, meanwhile, was again deployed in central midfield for the full 90 minutes and provided a sublime pass for Bukayo Saka - who duly lashed in an unstoppable half-volley as part of his hat-trick - in the second half.

Also in European Championship qualifying, Ibrahima Konate and Kostas Tsimikas came up against each other as France defeated Greece 1-0 thanks to a Kylian Mbappe penalty. The Reds duo both completed the entire match in Paris.

Elsewhere, Caoimhin Kelleher was an unused substitute as the Republic of Ireland beat Gibraltar 3-0 in Dublin, while Alexis Mac Allister remained on the bench throughout Argentina’s 2-0 friendly success over Indonesia.
