NewsLFC loan watch: Lewis and Stengel strike as 10 Reds feature
Adam Lewis and Katie Stengel were goalscorers as 10 of Liverpool's on-loan players featured over the weekend.
Lewis converted a penalty two minutes from the end to put the seal on a 3-0 victory for Newport County away at Forest Green Rovers in League Two, having also earlier set up his team’s second strike with a long pass out from the back.
LFC Women forward Stengel was on the scoresheet too, though her clinical finish from the edge of the box 12 minutes into added time was only a consolation as NJ/NY Gotham FC lost 2-1 to San Diego Wave in the USA.

In the opening round of fixtures in the new Bundesliga season, Fabio Carvalho came off the bench in the closing stages for RB Leipzig as they were beaten 3-2 away at Bayer Leverkusen, while Sepp van den Berg was involved for the final 30 minutes as FSV Mainz 05 lost 4-1 at Union Berlin.

Calvin Ramsay must wait for his Preston North End debut, however, with the Reds right-back facing a spell on the sidelines due to injury.
“Calvin’s had a bit of a setback, but it’s nothing major,” said Preston boss Ryan Lowe this week. “We’ll make sure between us and Liverpool that we do the right things with him.
“He’s just had a bit of a setback and we’ll make sure we monitor him now. If it takes six to eight weeks, whatever it takes, we’ll make sure we’ll build him up and get him stronger.”
