Mark Schwarzer has rubbished reports linking Leicester City team-mate Kasper Schmeichel with a move to Liverpool.

Rumours emerging on Monday suggested the Reds have made an enquiry about the 29-year-old goalkeeper.

Schwarzer sealed a free transfer to Leicester last January as cover for an injured Schmeichel, but was soon kept out of the side due to the fine form of Denmark international, who has starred in what has been a shining season for the Foxes as they sit three points clear at the top of the Barclays Premier League table.

And the Australian believes it is simply "impossible" Leicester would allow their number one glovesman to leave in January as they continue their bid for the top-flight title.

“I can’t see Leicester allowing him to leave, particularly at this time of the season,” he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast.

“I just see it as impossible. Maybe at the end of the season we’ll see what happens at the club, but I just can’t see Leicester letting Kasper go.”
