Liverpool could be set to land Geoffrey Kondogbia on loan in January, according to reports in Italy.

The 23-year-old signed for Inter Milan from Monaco in June 2015, penning a five-year deal.

But he has struggled for form and fitness this season and has been criticised by Inter boss Frank De Boer.

After an error in Inter's 1-1 draw with Bologna last month, De Boer said: "We already talked about this and he makes the same mistakes often. We cannot accept that from players when we’ve told them many times already."

Kondogbia has been left out of Inter’s last two games and there are now rumours he could be shipped out of the club in January.

Italian outlet Web Calcio claim Liverpool are keen on taking Kondogbia on loan until the end of the season and will pay his wages in full.

Kondogbia has played in just four of Inter's opening seven games this season, who sit ninth in Serie A.
