Liverpool moved joint top of the Premier League table after goals from Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane helped them to victory over West Brom.

Liverpool were looking threatening and took a deserved lead when Roberto Firmino found Mane, and he slotted the ball past Ben Foster and into the net.

Emre Can almost doubled the Reds lead when Nathanial Clyne slide in a cross, but the German just couldn’t reach the ball.

But Liverpool did go 2-0 ahead before half-time when Coutinho dance around West Brom’s defence before he slotted the ball home at the near post.

In the second half Dejan Lovren should have added to Liverpool’s lead with a goal-bound header, But ben Foster produced a great save to deny the Croatian.

The Reds had a number of chances to find a third but Foster continued to deny Jurgen Klopp’s men.

And Liverpool were given a nervy finish when Gareth McAuley volleyed in after a Chris Brunt corner to give West Brom hope of a comeback.

The Baggies then went looking for an equaliser, but Liverpool had enough to earn the three points which moved them joint top of the table.
