Philippe Coutinho spearheaded Liverpool’s second-half demolition job of West Ham to further their claim for a top-four finish.

Coutinho bagged a double at the London Stadium and also provided Daniel Sturridge with the opener to end the England striker’s goal drought.

Sturridge had not scored since January 2 but found the net on 35 minutes when dancing around goalkeeper Adrian after being fed through by Coutinho.

And the provider turned goalscorer after the break as he sent a low effort into the bottom-left corner just before the hour mark.

Moments later and Coutinho made it 3-0 when buying his chance during a controversial counter-attack.

West Ham felt Georginio Wijnaldum had handled in Liverpool's penalty area but referee Neil Swarbrick waved away the claims.

And in the resulting attack Coutinho exploited a Hammers defence in total disarray to slam home.

Joel Matip and Divock Origi both hit the crossbar as Liverpool had the majority of chances in east London.

And a fourth finally came when Origi scrambled in from close range.

Andre Ayew, meanwhile, spurned West Ham’s best chance when hitting the post twice from two yards out.
