Liverpool will “definitely” sign Mohamed Salah this summer – according to Egypt’s most cherished Premier League export.

Former Tottenham striker Mido, who now manages Egyptian Premier League side Wadi Degla, also believes his compatriot will thrive under Jurgen Klopp as the Reds and Roma continue to negotiate a deal.

Salah is high on Klopp’s list of targets this summer, as the German looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season.

Liverpool had a £28m bid rejected by the Serie A club earlier this month, with Roma understood to be looking to demand closer to £40m for one of their prized assets.

And though talks so far have yet to reach a compromise, Liverpool remain keen on bringing the 24-year-old to Merseyside.

Despite that, Mido is confident of both a deal being agreed and Salah shining at Anfield.

“Salah will definitely move to Liverpool,” said Mido. “It’s just a matter of time.

“Liverpool’s style of play suits Salah perfectly and Klopp’s style suits him.”

The 34-year-old – who also featured for Middlesbrough, Wigan and West Ham during his five-year spell in England – does have some concerns over the potential move, however.

As reported by Egyptian website Kingfut, the former target man added: “I’m not concerned about the competition Salah will face in Liverpool, but I just fear he might not be able to cope with the higher tempo of playing in the Premier League.”

Roma remain reluctant to part with their star man.
