Liverpool are tracking France defender Mamadou Sakho ahead of a possible summer move, according to sources in France.
The Reds could lose as many as three centre-backs this summer, with Jamie Carragher set to retire and both Martin Skrtel and Sebastian Coates tipped to leave Anfield.
Accordingly, Brendan Rodgers is stepping up his search for defensive reinforcements and is thought to be keen on Sakho, the Paris Saint-Germain player.
The 23-year-old, who came through the ranks at the capital club, has fallen behind summer signing Thiago Silva in the pecking order this season - he's started just two of his side's eight Champions League matches - and could seek pastures new.
Capped 12 times at senior international level, Sakho could be the perfect signing for Rodgers - although the Northern Irishman will have to fend off Arsenal and Newcastle, who have also shown an interest in the defender in the past.
